007 Legends, the game was released just in time to help celebrate 50 years of James Bond. 007 Legends was developed from Eurocom, who made the last James Bond game GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, it was a remake of GoldenEye. So it comes to no surprise that many of the same elements in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded are found in 007 Legends.

007 Legends is a game that draws plenty from the 50 years that the film series has existed. 007 Legends isn’t just one single storyline, the game takes its inspiration from six films in the James Bond series like: Goldfinger, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Licence to Kill, Die Another Day, Moonraker and Skyfall.

The beginning of the game you start off your journey into a scene from the upcoming movie Skyfall, in which James Bond is fighting with an enemy on a train and he’s accidentally shot by a sniper. He then falls into the water below, triggering a series of flashbacks of all of James Bond’s previous missions.

Gameplay: Get use to sneaking around, luckily the game has a cover system, which allows you to duck under objects, walls, tables and such and pop your head out to take shots at enemies. The game does have slight issues with hit detection that can prove to become irritating at times.

How to deal with enemies in the game pretty much goes down like this, you can subdued them by sneaking up onto them, use tranquilizers and silenced weapons for those hoard to reach foes. The game can become very frustrating, in stealth missions you have to stay hiding from enemies and also have to deal with security cameras.

But it’s the inability to move and hide bodies that certainly proves to be the problem, you have to either take down every guard or finish fast enough that a guard doesn’t stumble across a dead body, and the fact that many stealth sections require you to stay hidden.

It should also be noted that the Skyfall mission is not included in the release game, and will be issued later as DLC. To avoid spoilers, downloading and finishing the Skyfall mission will be the actual ending of the game.

The Multiplayer is exactly the same as the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Multiplayer, except now it’s only 12 players max versus 16 found in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. The Multiplayer offers a list of modes, including the typical Deathmatch, License to Kill mode and the Legends mode. Legends mode allows players to play as one of their favorite James Bond villains, each with a unique special ability.

When you say the Skyfall mission will come later as DLC, do you know if you will have to pay for it or if it will be free? I don’t mind DLC but it’s a bit of a disgrace if you have to pay extra just to complete the game. I can imagine that giving a few developers some bad ideas for the future.
