Scarface: The World Is Yours 1 Million Units Sold
Tuesday, 28 November 2006
Vivendi Games’ Sierra Entertainment division is proud to announce that Scarface: The World Is Yours, the blockbuster video game based on the 1983 classic film from Universal Pictures, has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide at retail stores.

In the month of October, the world was truly Tony’s.  In addition to the success of Scarface: The World Is Yours, Tony’s game for the PSP system, Scarface: Money. Power. Respect., claimed the top spot on the PSP system in North America .  According to sales data from The NPD Group/Retail Tracking Service, during the month of October:

  • Scarface: The World Is Yours was the #1 Game in America
  • Scarface: The World Is Yours was the #1 Console Game in America
  • Scarface: The World Is Yours was the #1 PlayStation®2 Game in America
  • Scarface: The World Is Yours was the #1 Xbox® Game in America
  • Scarface: Money. Power. Respect. was the #1 PSP Game in America

Scarface: The World Is Yours presents a sequel storyline that asks “What if Tony Montana survived the mansion shootout?”  The game plunges players deep into the seedy underbelly of 1980s Miami as the one-and-only Tony Montana.  Players are challenged to re-enact the climactic mansion shoot-out from the original film, but in the game the player has the opportunity to help Tony fight his way out of the mansion and survive.  As Tony, the player must then rebuild his fallen empire and seize vengeance on his enemies.

Video game critics have praised Scarface: The World Is Yours for its thrilling gameplay, the authenticity to the classic Scarface film and the game’s Hollywood-level production values.

Last Laugh ‘06 Starring Lewis Black
Tuesday, 28 November 2006
Heartache, heartbreak and mother f#@$in' snakes!  “Comdey Central's Last Laugh ‘06 Starring Lewis Black” takes an irreverent look back at the most controversial and outrageous events of this year – from the Braveheart exposing his cold, callous, evil thoughts during a drunk driving arrest, "Survivor" revealing that segregation is just experimentation, Britney cutting K-Fed loose to Republicans getting kicked to the curb, 2006 was one spirited year.

“Comdey Central's Last Laugh '06 Starring Lewis Black" offers an edgy, alternative year-in-review with Lewis Black leading an all-star line up including Greg Giraldo and Patton Oswalt, who plan to rip into 2006 like Mel Gibson taking on the LAPD…hopefully, without the bigotry…or the botched hair plugs…or a blood alcohol level that could even break Bonaduce.    Fasten your seatbelts; this is going to be one wild ride.

The hour-long show will premiere on Comdey Central on Sunday, December 10 at 10:00 p.m.  Shot live at LA’s Orpheum Theatre, "Comdey Central's Last Laugh ‘06 Starring Lewis Black" will be a one-of-a-kind year-end event.  The special will feature exclusive stand-up routines from the sharpest minds in comedy, as well as star-packed short films and comic segments that will bring the year into focus and skewer the world of politics, sports, celebrity, movies and much more.

Guns N' Roses show in Wisconsin Is Cancelled
Tuesday, 28 November 2006
The Guns N' Roses concert scheduled for Milwaukee's Bradley Center on November 29 has been cancelled due to illness. Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose is suffering from an ear infection and strep throat.

Rose was first diagnosed with the ear infection on the 20th of November in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was seen again by a doctor last night following the band's show in Chicago and ordered to rest for a few days.

The tour will continue as scheduled Friday night in Ames, Iowa at Hilton Coliseum.

Axl Rose commented, "We had a great show in Chicago tonight and had hoped to do a surprise acoustic show afterwards. I have been fighting this off for a long time but the doctor told me tonight that the only way not to jeopardise the balance of the tour is immediate rest. We will now have 3 days off before continuing Friday. We are sorry to miss the fans in Milwaukee."
