Orioles sign southpaw Bedard |

The Orioles today announced that they have signed LHP Erick Bedard to a one-year contract for 2007, avoiding salary arbitration. Bedard, in his 5th big league season, set career highs and led Orioles pitchers in wins (15), innings (196.1), starts (33) and strikeouts (171) last season while finishing 9th in the American League with a 3.76 ERA.
The Orioles now have settled with all four of their arbitration-eligible players this winter.
In addition, RHP Ryan Keefer, who was designated for assignment on Thursday, has cleared waivers and been sent outright to AAA Norfolk.
