The Oakland Athletics announced today the club has released outfielder Hiram Bocachica.

Bocachica joined the A's last year when rosters expanded on Sept. 1 and went 3 for 13 with three walks in eight games. He began the 2006 season on the Sacramento disabled list with a broken right wrist and hit .286 in four games at Single-A Stockton and .326 with 19 home runs and 60 RBI in 77 games with Triple-A Sacramento.
