Omid Djalili comes to Comedy Central

English-Iranian comic Omid Djalili comes to Comedy Central with his hilarious new half-hour special. The Network Television Premiere of "Omid Djalili" debuts Saturday, April 21 at 11:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.

In his self-titled special, Djalili tackles multicultural issues ranging from terrorism to belly dancing, all delivered in his signature, hyperactive comedy style. Tune in for Djalili's outrageous insight into experiences such as visiting a Southern church and running an anti-racism workshop. Known for his authentic manner that integrates cultural observations, political humor, imitations, accents and song and dance, Djalili is sure to live up to his international reputation in this Network Television Premiere special.

Djalili has earned a worldwide following for both his stand-up comedy and film careers. To American audiences, Djalili is best known for starring with Whoopi Goldberg in the NBC sitcom "Whoopi." Film acting credits for Djalili include "The Mummy" (1999), "Gladiator" (2000), "Spy Game" (2001) and "Casanova" (2005). He will soon be seen in "The Allotment" and "Pirates of the Caribbean III." In the U.K., Djalili has found tremendous success in his stand-up comedy performances, especially with his shows at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. The comedian has performed in Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Slovakia. Most recently, he performed in Qatar of the Emir, where he shared a stage with Bill Clinton.
