Wladimir Klitschko Gets Another Shot at Lamon Brewster
Wednesday, 18 April 2007
IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his title against Lamon Brewster in a July 7 rematch in Germany.
The bout will be held in Cologne Arena, K2 Promotions said Monday.
In
a 2004 fight for the WBO title, Brewster won with a fifth-round
technical knockout. Klitschko had knocked down Brewster in the fourth
round, but he was saved by the bell.
"This
chance for revenge against Lamon Brewster is a dream come true,"
Klitschko said. "He is without a doubt an extremely dangerous opponent,
but I always hoped for a chance to redeem myself."
Klitschko
(48-3 with 43 KOs) needed only a few punches to stop Ray Austin in the
second round last month. Brewster (33-3 with 29 KOs) lost the WBO title
in April 2006 to Sergei Liakhovich in a unanimous decision.
"I will knock out Klitschko again," Brewster said, "and then no one will be able to say that the first win was a fluke."
