So Hood Magazine: Was this album Sentimiento more personal to you than your others that you’ve released? What do you want your fans to take away from Sentimento?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Este es un álbum que hace honor a su título en cada composición. En este álbum lo que quiero dejar demostrado a mis fanáticos es mi evolución como solista, como compositora y como mujer.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) This it is an album that honors its title in each composition. In this album what I wanted to leave and demonstrate to my fanatics it is my evolution as a soloist, composer and woman.

So Hood Magazine: I must admit Oue Lloren is a great song written by you. You really took it to the guys.  Were you speaking from personal experience about men treating women badly? What does the song mean to you?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Romper la barrera del típico machismo latino donde le inculcan a nuestros hombres desde pequeño que no deben llorar. Al final no es cuestión de categoría femenina o masculina, es cuestión de ser humano, ser vulnerable y mostrar los sentimientos.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) To break the barrier of the typical Latin machismo where they tell men from small which they do not have to cry. In the end it is not a question of feminine or masculine category, is it a question of being human, to be vulnerable and to show feelings.

So Hood Magazine: What’s next for you as far as projects? Do you have a DVD coming out?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Acaparar mi faceta de compositora, lanzar mi línea de ropa y escribir un libro que le tengo por titulo “Ivy Queen detrás del Glamour”, ya que mucha gente cuando me vé se olvida del sacrificio para estar sentada en este trono. Y si tengo planeado mi DVD unplugged, entre otros.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) To control my facet of composer, to launch my clothing line and to write a book titled "Ivy Queen behind the Glamour", since a lot people when they see me tend to forget the sacrifice to be sitting in this throne. And Yes, I also have plans of releasing my DVD unplugged, and among others.

So Hood Magazine: When people say you’re The Queen of Reggaeton, how does that make you feel when they say that?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Es un honor que me llamen Reina, para eso he trabajado y sé que me lo merezco por mi lucha y sacrificio pero a la vez implica más responsabilidades ya que siempre he estado adelantada a la música que esta pasando en el momento y siempre me encuentro en constante reto.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) It is an honor that they call me Queen, for that I have worked hard for and I know that I deserve it by my fight and sacrifice but simultaneously implies more responsibilities since I have always have to be advanced to the music that’s happening at the moment and it’s a constant challenge.

Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Sin quitar mérito a los demás, porque todos me han apoyado año tras año, te diría Rafy Mercenario. Nuestra química es excelente y todo fluye como por arte de magia. Al igual El Yedai, DJ Urba, Monserrate y Keko le dan un giro de dance hall y de gangstereo a mis letras.

So Hood Magazine: Do you own any cats or dogs? What’s her name? Age? What do you love about your pet?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) Si tengo una perrita Shit-zu. Se llama Gia y tiene 7 meses.  Lo que me gusta de ella es que es una DIVA, duerme con aire y si se lo apagas llora; eso me da mucha risa.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) Yes, I have a Shit-zu female puppy. Her name is Gia and she’s 7 months old. What I like about her is she’s a Diva! She sleeps with the air conditioner on and if you turn it off she starts to cry, that makes me laugh a lot.

So Hood Magazine: Do you think 2 years from now Reggaeton music is going to be bigger than ever?
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) La gente quiere darle un término a mi género. Si a mi me preguntas, yo se donde va a estar Ivy Queen en 2 años, trabajando más fuerte, dando buena música y sorprendiendo a muchos.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) People like to give a label to what my genre is. Now if you ask me, where I’ll be in two years. I’ll be working much harder, making better music and surprising a lot more people.

So Hood Magazine: Finally, when you were younger did you take lessons in singing cause you have a wonderful voice? Continue success.
Ivy Queen: (Spanish) No tomé clases de canto.  Estoy segura que lo heredé de mis padres y Dios me bendijo con buena voz y un flow que sólo me la quita el mismo que la bendijo.
 

Ivy Queen: (English) I did not take classes for singing. I am sure that I inherited it from my parents and God blessed me with a good voice and flow, which is the same one that blessed me can take it away.
