Daddy Yankee was released Monday afternoon from Baptist Hospital, after having suffered a viral infection and dehydration while promoting his latest album El Cartel: The Big Boss. Yankee was treated by Dr. Javier Perez-Fernandez, who recommended the superstar remain in repose for the next week.
"I hope he'll take this week to remain completely calm and rested, away from the media. You have to understand that although he is a megastar, he still needs to recuperate his health like anyone else would," stated Perez-Fernandez.
Yankee took the opportunity to thank the wonderful hospital staff and his fans, who offered their endless support during this difficult time. "This is a sign from the boss (in reference to God). The boss is telling me to take my time and set my priorities straight. Now, I'm going home to rest for a bit," stated the rapper, upon his release from the hospital
