The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have voided the option of LHP GUSTAVO CHACIN to Syracuse of the International League (AAA). CHACIN, 26, will remain on a Major League rehabilitation assignment at Syracuse.
The Orioles today announced that they have claimed CA GUSTAVO MOLINA off waivers from the Chicago White Sox and optioned him to AA Bowie. Molina is currently on the Orioles' 40-man roster.
Molina, 24, spent the first six weeks of the season with the White Sox and went 1-for-18 in 10 games. He was optioned to AAA Charlotte and batted .209 (29-139) with 2 home runs and 9 RBI in 43 games for the Knights.
The Orioles now have 40 players on their roster.
