From the same style of the widely successful “Hot Shots Golf” game franchise, comes "Hot Shots Tennis". The games is designed to be so simple that anyone could pretty much pick up a controller and get playing with success without reading the manual. Don’t be fooled Hot Shot Tennis is also deep enough that you can spend hours of your time improving your weaknesses, while perfecting your attack strategy.

The presentation in the game is what one would expect from the Hot Shots franchise, with cute, bigheaded anime characters frolicking all over the courts. The selectable characters in the game come in wide-ranging styles that one could imagine, different color uniforms, gender and varied body types, though I can’t tell if any characters from previous Hot Shots Golf are actually in the game, cause I can’t remember any memorable one From HSG .The backgrounds on the tennis courts are varied, some are simple in design while some are a welcome change in scenery, the beach backdrop was the one I preferred the most.

The gameplay is simple, on the tennis court you could smash the ball with a blistering underhanded serve, execute topspins, drop shots, slice, and of course the lob. All are performed with ease, just point at the direction that you want the ball to go on the analog stick and simply press a button to execute. There is a Timing guide in the game, if you hit the ball in the right moment, you'll see a music note appear over your player's head; if you hit it early, you'll see a rabbit; if you swing late, you'll see a turtle.

Hot Shots Tennis isn't as groundbreaking as the first Hot Shots Golf game, but it’s still a great game that is easy to pick up and play. Sadly there is something missing that made the golf series so addictive. You can't buy your characters better equipment or improve their skills, and the menu of game options is limited. It's fun to play with friends, but that alone doesn’t makeup for an uncreative solo campaign.
