Pathfinder is a movie about what a man chooses. I like the movie because you have to look in between the lines to see what is really happening. He is fighting two things, the people that he was born from and what is going on in his heart. He is fighting for what path he wants to take. He is the one who chooses, not the Indians or the Vikings.

This is very accurate in the fact that Vikings were very brutal. Vikings destroyed/raided and took land to colonize. But many times they mated with the native populations and took them over that way. The first American Indians were peaceful yet strong in their own survival arena. They didn't become bloodthirsty so to speak until other foreign conquers showed them how. After being brutalized and left to die by his Viking family the love this young boy learns while growing up with his new adopted Indian family is sweet and real. The visual photography is absolutely stunning and spectacular to see here.

This is an original story line that hasn't been done to death as so many of Hollywood writers are doing today… This is fresh, crisp, stunning, exciting, and scary, and fun to watch. You keep rooting for the good guy. Karl Urban did a wonderful job here. It is very bloody film and kids under 14 shouldn’t see this. Overall, it’s an excellent film.
