Species: The Awakening Reviewed by: Armando Rojas Movie Rating: Extras Rating: 2 out of 5
The film starts with lead actress Helena Mattsson who plays Miranda the alien and Ben Cross as Tom Hollander her caretaker. After Miranda Alien like form takes some lives Ben decides it’s time for her to know the truth about herself. He mentions a man who can help her. Both head out to Mexico to find that man named Forbes McGuire played by Dominic Keating who I think is an underrated actor; Star Trek fans might probably remember him from the Enterprise Star Trek TV series, where he played Lieutenant Malcolm Reed.
The film features plenty of beautiful women and nudity, I might say so it kept me interested all the way towards the end. It’s not the best film I seen from the past Species franchise but has a nice storyline. What happens to Miranda after she finds Forbes? Does Ben Cross’ character get killed off? These questions can be answered by picking up the DVD October 2.
The Look: I didn't notice any problems from a video standpoint. There weren't any hits or moments where the picture got pixilated at all. The Sound: English - 5.1 Dolby Digital. Subtitled in English, French and Spanish. Close Captioned. There isn’t any problem from the audio standpoint.
The Packaging: The DVD is pretty standard
