Mike Enslin (John Cusack) is a mildly successful horror book writer who finds out about room 1408 and how so many people have died in that room. Mike Enslin needs a story and he goes after it.
His personality is a brave, adventurous and stubborn person who disregards the owner of Dolphin Hotel Gerald Olin whose played by Samuel L. Jackson’s repeated attempts of telling him not to go near that room eventually he succumbs to Mike’s relentless pursuit and lets him in. What happens to Mike Enslin does he die in room 1408 or does he escape? With extra footage and an alternate ending scene it's a must have DVD. Its an all right film considering the setting takes place mostly in the room it’ll keep you entertained.
