Renegade Squadron is an exclusive title on the PSP, a better upgrade to the last Star Wars Battlefront, the game is primarily a multiplayer third-person shooter. Players get to experience the glories and until now the unsung story from Renegade Squadron. Throughout the eleven single player missions, it touches upon several key battles from “Star Wars: the empire strikes back” and Return Of The Jedi”. Players will also fight through missions that are allover the Star Wars universe; you won’t fell like your replaying scenes from the movies.

The single player campaign has a great story that unfolds nicely through a series of great-animated storyboards and well-voiced narrations.

One of the major changes is the default controls, Renegade Squadron now uses a lock-on button to help players score more success hits verses the enemies then missies, this is an improvement in the series. The lock-on feature works well verses the regular solders that you face but as their ranks get higher the enemies will start to roll more and move in a directions where your lock-on isn’t so good, which causes you to miss.

Another improvement, is the inclusion of online play for up to 16 players. There are several modes to choose from, one being the conquest mode. Two teams fight for control of various capture points scattered across the map. To win, you either capture all the control points or bleed your enemy's tickets down to zero. There are a number of familiar maps to play on; some are reworked from it's predecessor. There are other modes, such as capture the flag and hero capture the flag, in which you turn into a recognizable Star Wars hero when you grab your own flag. The assault mode, which puts you in the cockpit of a space vessel, where in the Star Wars galaxy you’ll have to attack the critical systems on your enemy's capital ship, it's pretty entertaining.

Before entering battle, you now have a total of 100 credits to spend on items and upgrades. You can spend credits on primary or secondary weapons, explosives, power-ups and more. You can make changes on the fly at any captured spawn point. Sometimes trying to go for the most powerful weapons can hurt you, cause you’ll have to subtract many useful items in order to equip yourself with those powerful weapons.

Renegade Squadron looks and sounds great, the environments, character models and vehicles are feel like star Wars, which is spectacular, also the graphics look appropriate for it being on the PSP.

This is what Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron on the PSP can offer, a great game that is immensely fun to play online, and yet still very much entertaining offline, and I know the graphics isn’t that great but who cares, the gameplay and the Star Wars factor is more then enough. It’s a must have for Star Wars Fans.
