Interview with Big Noyd -7.09.05
Sunday, 05 March 2006

In the World of Hip-Hop there's two type of artist: one who talks the talk and lives that life to the fullest, and the other whose a character pretending to be something he or she is not, Noyd is known to Hip-Hop heads for appearing over the years on Mobb Deep albums; his lyrical dialog paints a raw and gruesome visual description of how the streets have no mercy for the weak.

His rap lyrics over instrumentals tell a life of hardship and tragedy. "Me, honestly, I love my  moms for bringing me into this World and everything, but I learned a lot stuff from me, I learned from my own mistakes," says Noyd.

Indeed, you have to crawl before you can walk, and fall a few times off a bicycle before you can ride. In 1997, Noyd, was charged with attempted murder... "It definitely affected my life," explains Noyd. "It made me scared, it made me tough, it made me look at life different."

When I asked him about his fellow Q.B. native Rapper Nas whom graced the cover of XXL Magazine depicted burning two of Hip-Hop's well-respected mags. "I don't really pay attention to the politics as far as magazines and radio, though it affects me, but I take what I've gotten," says Noyd.

Although, Noyd has gone through a lot in his life and one thing is for sure, he enjoys making Hip-Hop music. "I love Hip-Hop!" says an enthusiastic Noyd. "I love the fact that, it's a culture, it's not just words and beats on paper or on a track, it's how I rock my pants is Hip-Hop, the way I rock my hat to the back is Hip-Hop."
