Konami Digital Entertainment revealed that New International Track and Field
will be released in North America this summer for the Nintendo DS.
Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, this classic sports game has been
updated with a bright and stylish new look, a wealth of competitive
events plus online play.
Players can choose from more than
15 characters including some known Konami video game franchises such as
Rumble Roses Silent Hill, Rocket Knight Adventures and Frogger. The
game also includes two new secret unlockable characters that can be
used in both single play as well as online.
New International Track and Field
is a truly Olympian experience, with more than 20 athletic challenges
to face, including the 100 meter dash, pole vault, high jump, archery
and even throwing the javelin. As your athlete progresses in the game,
it can be customized with new equipment, outfits, animations and other
cool items. Each athlete also has a "Challenge Event" that will test
player skills in unique and entertaining ways. New International Track
and Field also incorporates a unique Voice Boost feature; using the
microphone on the Nintendo DS, players can give their character a
performance boost by cheering them on. The louder you are, the bigger
the boost!
When you think you're ready to challenge the
world's best, players can take advantage of a massive online feature
set, including four player game sharing, worldwide rankings and online
tournaments.
