The Road to the Show mode is insanely addictive, you’ll spent a lot of hours trying to better your skills in this mode. The obstacle of making a created player going from Double AA ball then up to Triple AAA ball in the minor leagues to ultimately going to the big show, the Major Leagues, is both thrilling and painstaking.
The great thing about
Road to the Show is that you won’t actually play every inning of every game, just when your player bats, pitches and fields, thus making the season much faster. One thing that hampers the
“Road to the Show” is the loading time from game to game, it’s unbearable sometimes, especially when you only put in the game to pinch hit and now you have to wait for the loading screen to take you back to the home screen of Road to the Show.

The graphics in the PSP are surprisingly good if not better, though sometimes you’ll get that moment where you notice the baseball is too small to field, but other then a few glitches here and there, it’s awesome. The fielding is very smooth, with great animations especially when you're making running catches and dives to stop the ball in the infield. Player faces are relatively good, and the character models do a good job.
The manager in the Major League level will push you to accomplish goals that must be completed in a set number of weeks, either you’ll stay a starter or move to a utility player. The Manager also sends out E-mails to you with harsh remarks as to why you didn’t hit & run when told to.
MLB '08: The Show might be the best baseball game on the PSP hands down, I don’t see any other baseball game toping it this year. The game really pushes the PSP as far as it could go with a baseball game with the design, graphics and features.
