Friday, 14 March 2008
Today announced a $200,000 donation to PADRES Contra El Cancer (PADRES) national spokeswoman Eva Longoria Parker to benefit the organization. PADRES is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children who are battling cancer. "We are extremely grateful for AT&T's generosity and commitment to PADRES and the Latino community," said Parker, actress and PADRES national spokeswoman. "The money AT&T raised will help us continue supporting families coping with the devastating effects of childhood cancer." The donation is the result of AT&T's second annual Answer Hope's Call campaign, which consisted of a fundraising effort to increase awareness of childhood cancer and collect donations from customers at select retail stores in the Greater Los Angeles area. The campaign also included a bone marrow drive, which set a national record for a single-day drive by adding 253 new donors to the National Bone Marrow Program.
