It’s the year 2012; we start off with Robert Neville (Will Smith) a military scientist, he is the lone survivor of a biochemical disease that went wrong 3 years ago. We find Robert and his best friend Sam a German shepherd dog running around New York City trying to shoot down animals. He is alone and somewhat crazy at times talking to mannequins in video stores in way to cope with his situation. He broadcasts his message over the radio airwaves about offering food and shelter to those who are still alive.
A lot of the infected people who hide in the shadows inside buildings carry the deadly disease and they can’t see in the daylight cause they will get burn and die. They come out during the night to search for food. And when they do come out at night, Robert Neville locks down his brick stone house with serious security devices. He also spends his time trying to find a cure for those are infected with the disease by using lab rats as a form of research.
Will Smith does an incredible job of trying to keep the viewer entertained and deserves a lot of props for taking this role. He does push the envelope as an actor and it’s great to see that he likes to take risks. I won’t spoil the alternate ending but it’s a good one. I highly recommend you to get the 2 disc special edition DVD of I Am Legend you won’t be disappointed.
