The 11th Hour is an important film that everyone should see. The overwhelming evidence that human shortsightedness has brought us to a tipping point globally can no longer be summarily dismissed. The fact that self-interested politicians continue to do so, and that big oil actually pays a few corrupted scientists big money to sell us all out by debunking global warming and other connected manmade environmental crises, is one glaring reason among many for the more enlightened among us to fight back strenuously in every way we can.
The 11th Hour gives facts about the state of the global environment. The first three quarters of the film gives the straight talk about the whole world's oceans being over-fished, about the 50 species we kill off every day, and the rise of illness in humanity due to the bacteria breeding in the filthy air. The 11th Hour makes three exceeding important points: one, that we are in the midst of the problem and are late in addressing it; two, that it is our thinking that is actually behind these problems; and three, that with the solutions that we have the technology to implement *today* we can reduce our "carbon imprint" not by the 30% the concerned elements in the US government are fighting for, not the 50% which is actually needed, but by 90%. The film points out we can have a better quality of life if we do immediately what we need to, or we can die.
So, if you insist on being stupid and don't want to believe the scientist who have collected the evidence, you will change your mind when your loved ones float by dead from the drowning of coastal cities, as happened in New Orleans, or die from the heat in places like Los Angeles or die from your city smashed flat by tornadoes as happened in Kansas. You'll also be killing a lot of people who aren't stupid like you are with your "I don't believe it" reflex.
