We begin with Rob (Michael Stahl-David) and Beth (Odette Yustman) video taping each other showing a time where they were so much in love with each other. Fast forward some weeks, we see that Rob is leaving New York for a job in Japan. Marlena and Jason decide to have a send off party for Rob by gathering up his friends. Hud (T.J. Miller) the camera guy videotapes everyone at the party asking them to leave a message for Rob. Then all of sudden everyone hears a blast outside the streets. The statue of Liberty gets her head cut off and dropped onto the streets of Manhattan, New York. A monster appears on screen destroying anything that walks in its path.

Everyone tries to leave by crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. But tragedy struck when Rob’s brother Jason (Mike Vogel) dies in the Brooklyn Bridge after the monster destroyed it. Jason’s girlfriend Marlena (Lizzy Caplan) tries to cope with his death while running around the city helping Rob get to Beth’s home. After saving Beth everyone tries to get on a military helicopter. Marlena gets to escape Manhattan by getting on a helicopter to safety. The rest of the crew Hud, Beth and Rob got on the next helicopter but the monster knocked it down.

Besides the hundreds of point of view camera angles and the camera bouncing around every five seconds and despite me not being a fan of the camera shots and the way they did the camera work the film actually worked cause it did keep me entertained and it had me waiting for what is going to happen next. So in conclusion if you like action movies, and big monsters then I recommend this movie for you.
