The New York Mets loss to the Cubs felt as if the players didn’t get enough sleep, I guess I wasn’t wrong in assume it, as the New York Post reports:
"We got in late, but no excuses," said David Wright, who also had an error. "We got shut down by a good pitching staff, and they got some big hits. Everybody has to travel and get in late every once in a while, but Carlos Zambrano is the excuse for us losing tonight."
After a late-night loss Sunday in Philadelphia kept them from arriving here until just 14 hours before the first pitch, it was no surprise to see the Mets end up sleepwalking through a 7-1 loss to the Cubs.
"It's a tough one to swallow, because Johnny pitched well enough to win," Willie Randolph said after the Mets' second loss in a row.
