Willie Randolph Can’t Motivate The Mets
Saturday, 26 April 2008
Lets fact it the New York Mets looked awful tonight, they looked flat and unmotivated. The Mets only had two hits, I mean c’mon it looked like the Mets were facing the Toronto Blue Jays and not their long time rivals Atlanta Braves. Check out some of these Quotes from around the New York Papers (DailyNews, NYTimes, Nypost)

"We don't really need any type of refocus," manager Willie Randolph said before the game. "We had a couple days where we didn't play too well, but that's a small, small window of a season. It's going to happen."

"When you're struggling sometimes, maybe a nice little mental break might be good for you," Randolph said.

“I threw way too many balls,” said Pelfrey, who walked four batters. “I did a poor job of executing pitches. The especially frustrating part was I had a 3-1 lead going into the fourth. I didn’t take advantage of it. I let the team down.”

“We let him off the ropes,” Randolph said. “He helped us out by losing his control and his composure. We needed that one big hit there and he was able to get himself right.”
