Hillary Swank, an incredible actor, completely deserving of her two academy awards does her best to make this movie something more than what the plot line has to offer. Definitely needed a better plot, by establishing a deeper relationship with her husband from the beginning to pull us in, so that when she goes off on her adventures we are right there with her. I was expecting to be taken off into a whirlwind adventure, but that was not the case.

I wept with the protagonist, Holly. Her sorrow was so tragic and so utterly believable. I can’t imagine going through an ordeal like that. The little things the director had her do, for example wearing Gerry’s clothes and carrying around his ashes made me start bawling like a little girl.

I was not impressed by Harry Connick Jr., Kathy Bates, & Lisa Kudrow's performances; however, I was impressed with Gina Gershon and Gerard Butler's performances-- they were believable actors deserving to be in the film.
