Bakugan Battle Brawlers Product Review
Monday, 09 June 2008
For anyone who is not familiar with Bakugan, it’s a new smash hit game that also has a hit cartoon series that airs on the Cartoon Network. Bakugan is the story of Dan and his friends as they battle their Bakugan monsters to save the parallel Universe of Vestroia and ultimately the Earth from destruction. What these young warriors initially thought was just a game has become a race to restore peace throughout the universe.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a very innovative strategy board game, it’s essentially Magnetic marbles that Pop open into power Bakugan warrior action figures when they roll onto the real metal Gate Cards.

What a fun and interesting game Spinmaster has invented here, it’s very similar to Yu-Gi-Oh oh and Beyblade, but rather then just placing card after card in the board game, Bakugan is more interactive, thus in my opinion it makes the younger kids use their imagination and brains more.

Half the fun is trying to hunt down more powerful bakugan monster to help your chances of victory, as I guess that many of the more rare monsters are distributed among retailers in a matter that makes it harder to obtain. There is said that there are over 100 different monsters to choose from, red, brown, green, blue and silver, all with special abilities and different points that ranges from 150 to 450, which indicates the monsters strengths.

Each Gate card are different, so placement on the battle area are key, it’s just not random it takes some skills and knowledge of what works best for the current monsters at your disposal. The gate cards all have the same 6 number of points that represents a different color class of monster, red, blue, silver, black, brown and green. This is where it gets interesting, on one card the red ball will indict that that the red monsters stands to gain 100 points, Thus making your red monster 100 point stronger, but your red monster could also land on a different card that has a mark of –100 points for a red monster, thus making your red monster 100 points more weaker. See the whole point is if your monster has a HSP of 300 points and your opponents has also the same amount of 300, then it’s all on how that gate card you land on, is where you will be gaining points or losing, either way it just a fun game to play.

This is a great toy to give as a gift, or just to own for yourself, it’s a fun game that is sure to make kids happy for a long time.
