Unreal Tournament III Game Review

Unreal Tournament III has amazing graphics, it’s right up there among FPS in this nature. Everything seems polished, the sounds, environments, characters and the gameplay. The maps and style of the designs all have a little Gears Of War  touch to them, I know it's the same studio, but without the fun and great gameplay that Gears Of War brought to the table, what you’ll left with, is a fast pace game that excels online.

The weapons are look futuristic. There's the impact hammer, enforcer, bio rifle, shock rifle, link gun, and stinger minigun – just think T2 when Arnold is firing at the cops from the office building. And of course, a generic sniper weapon, it just wouldn’t be a FPS without a sniper rifle included.

My favorite is the rocket launcher, don’t know what about it makes me love it enough to always remember where to find it on different maps, maybe its the lock-on enemies features, that eases the ability to kill easier or that it brings me good luck in a heat of many battles.

The playable vehicles in the game match perfectly with many of the maps environments. Though some vehicles are a little clumsily, the controls are awkwardly executed, as both moving and shooting take way too much effort, whether on land or air its cool to patrol the areas as you moo-down players at will.

Playing split-screen either competitively or cooperatively with a friend does open a new experience, but I must say that it’s sometimes too awkward to maneuver around with only half a screen to go by, Unreal 3 is too fast in my opinion to play with only half a screen, but that's my opinion, maybe because I’m not used to it.

The real test is how it performs online. Well, I’m hear to tell you that the online experience is solid. The players are able to play online in a game max out at 16, which is still very adequate, and I guess anymore would have caused lag in the game.

As much as Unreal 3 tries to suck you in to the solo mission campaign, the real fun begins when you able to play versus others. Don’t get me wrong, the A.I is smart and all, but there is nothing like playing against someone who is either better than you, which you either lose badly to or worst than you, in which you should kick ass online.

The Good: Great graphics and design and overall style.

The Not So Good: The game controls.

Purchase, Rent Or Just play In A Friends House: I’ll suggest to buy this title, it's a great FPS.
