Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2-Disc) DVD Review Reviewed by: Johnny Pavlik

Knowing that the movie episodes has been on the Cartoon Network it helped me to understand some of the choices Lucas film made. The Clone Wars is intended to be produced for a weekly series, one that needs to be both good looking and profitable. To that end, I think they succeeded. I didn’t mind the limitations of the animation, though the Lego looking star ships did give me a pause. On balance, it was a good job and it appears to be sustainable.

I thought the movie worked well as an episode of the Clone Wars. In this episode, the clone wars is in full swing. The downfall of the Jedis has not occurred yet and Aniken Skywalker is still a good guy. Jabba The Hut’s son has been kidnapped and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Aniken must rescue him in order to preserve a treaty essential to the Republic.

I thought the movie worked well as an animated feature and was entirely believable as part of the Star Wars world. You forget that the characters are animated and just follow the story. The DVD features extra cool bonus material that won’t disappoint a die-hard Star Wars fan.
