I’ve never been this excited for a DLC in a long time, but for some reason my hopes were high for this DLC. Being a huge Battlefield 3 fan that I am, I was getting sick of playing the only two or three close combat maps available. We all know them: Operation Metro and Team Deathmatch on Noshahr Canals.
Battlefield 3: Close Quarters is your answer to wanting to play in some close combat maps. Playing in some of these tight quarter maps is like a breath of fresh air, I always had fun playing the game, but now it’s on a whole another level.
The 10 new weapons: Assault AUG A3, SCAR-L, Engineer ACW-R, MTAR-21, Support L86A2, LSAT, Recon M417, JNG-90. And the all Kits: SPAS-12, M5K. Each of the new weapons have there own style, which make them fun to unlock and use, although I especially enjoyed the M5K and the SPAS-12 — (personally speaking I love the shotguns).
4 new maps: The maps include are Donya Fortress, Operation 925, Scrapmetal and Ziba Tower. My favorites [in order] are Ziba Tower, Operation 925 and Donya Fortress with Scrapmetal being my least favorite.
Funny thing, there is a secret Xbox achievement on Ziba Tower titled “Grinding The Crack’ where you have to throw yourself off the balcony. I thought that was kind of fun, trade a life for an achievement.

New Game modes: Conquest Domination, I love this game type, it makes things faster to cap and move along to the next objective. Gun Master is a new game mode that doesn’t need explaining, as you’ll in a cycle to a new weapon with every kill.
I’ve become more of an Assignment addict: I just love carrying out the Assignments, I don’t really care if it unlocks a skin for my weapon or just a dog tag, I’m doing whatever Dice wants me to complete that Assignment.
Closing Comments: Overall, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters knocked it out the park. I think any Battlefield 3 gamer fan will enjoy the maps, weapons, and all that this DLC can offer.
