With the sudden drop of price, originally retailing at 59.99, it’s now available for 39.99, it’s a no-brainer, it’s still one of the best Baseball simulators in the market. Now with the All-Star game around the corner, the second half of the season is sure going to heat up, there is not a better time to dive into MLB 12 The Show.
MLB the Show has always been viewed as the best baseball game in the market, it’s realistic, as you’ll have to earn your numbers and wins. The franchise mode also has the GM like feature where you have to control the money side of the organization as well. Control ticket prices, salaries, vendors, TV contracts and much more.
Pitching and Hitting is still as exciting as it was in the last previous releases of MLB the show. The core gameplay remain the same, with some new additions to pitching and hitting controls.
The Pulse pitching system is in my opinion a more smother and rewarding experience then using the analog control. Zone analog system adds a new level of difficulty behind the plate, to an already hard-hitting game.
The ability to play co-op in Franchise mode is where it’s at. Though I would have hope for it to better implemented, as you can’t pick with player you want to control in the batters line up, only choose to rotate alternately.
As the first player or captain would control the leadoff, then the third place hitter, as the second player would control the second and then the clean-up hitter. It would have been a lot easier to just have an option to pick the players you want to control when batting. The fielding option for Co-op is fine the way it is, as you and your friend pick to either control the outfield, infield, pitcher and catcher.
Road To the Show: What can you say about it that has not been said over the past few years with each release, next to the franchise mode , RTTS is the best mode I’ve found in any sports game.
MLB the show games have always presented itself to replicate a real live broadcast, this year’s game is no different, with more cut scenes, player animation and camera angles, it adds to the game’s overall great presentation.
