Director Zack Snyder Talks About ‘Man of Steel’ Movie

In an interview with Total Film, the director explained, “Superman is a big responsibility but I felt he needed to be reintroduced to a generation and I thought this was a great opportunity…We decided to act as if no Superman film had been made – even though we love the films that have been made.”

Part of distancing the new Superman from the previous versions is making the decision not to include the classic John Williams score.

Fans were disappointed to hear the music replaced with score from The Lord of the Rings in the recent teaser trailer and they won’t be hearing it when the film releases next year either. The music you hear will instead be a new score from The Dark Knight Rises composer Hans Zimmer.
