The whole story is engaging enough, that it doesn’t come off as just another war story. The voice acting and dialogue is top notch. You get a lot of flashback scenes of many friends and memories of fallen love ones. Thus, giving you a more in-depth look into the main character background.
Even though, you’re playing a first person shooter, you more or less are playing in a game that wants you to take our time in war. You get to command troops in battle, as you position them to cover, to fire and basically you’re give out orders, thus adding an element of strategy to the game.

Each enemy has a circle above them, the red indicates a life bar and is ready to attack, after some commend of your troops on him, it becomes gray it means that your squad has range on him, making it safe to advance.
The game has a good cover system, as you are able to pretty much take cover around, rocks, walls and barrels, anything that you’ll be able to block fire from, all while figuring out of how to flank your enemy with your squad.

The A.I for your team of troops is at times questionable, as they run right into the line of fire, or won’t take cover in the right spot, they’ll pretty much make you scream at the TV, but for the most part, they get the job done.
Hell highway has some flaws, but in the total package, story, nice graphics, sounds, and environments, it’s a winner in my book.
