Eli Manning was so mediocre… in fact was good enough to lose. I knew Eli was going to have one of those infamous bad days syndrome, when he under-threw a sloppy pass to a wide-open Steve Smith on the very first play.
Manning ended up 15-for-29 with two interceptions, often overthrowing and under throwing receivers all day. It wasn’t as good as the final score, would have shown, as Eli really killed drives over and over, leading the Giants to kick field goals.
Michael Strahan on the Fox halftime show, noticed that Eli was going to lose the game, pleaded with the Giants to “Pound the football” in the second half of the game, if the G-men were to win the game.
Troy Aikmen also echoed the same sentiments, in the telecast repeatedly, ” Eli Manning has been erratic today”. It was that obvious to anyone watching the game except the Giants Offensive Coordinator Kevin Gilbride, who repeatedly chose to put the game in Eli’s hand, when the running game was starting to gain momentum. -–Written by Mario Diaz, SoHood.com
