Luis Castillo Pulls A Bill Buckner

I just witnessed one of the most horrible endings to a New York Mets game that I ever saw against the Yankees. Luis Castillo Pulls A Bill Buckner on the final out, Damn it, a simple pop up. Why didn’t he use two hands, why? The Mets need to look deep in their hearts and do something about it, maybe bring up a defensive second basement, or just release Luis Castillo.

I don’t know who to blame, but the Mets are a bad fundamental team, over and over players keep making errors when they attempt to make those one-hand catches, haven’t they learned anything. We all know that sometimes it calls for the players to use both hands to secure the ball into the glove.

Luis Castillo Salary for the 2009 season is $6,250,000, he’s 33 years old and is batting .281 with 14 RBI’s. I don’t know how I can watch another Mets Game, maybe not this weekend, this game ended in a sour note. I wonder how my fellow Met fans feel about it. -Mario Diaz,SoHood.com

it’s infuriating, agreed. castillo does not deserve pity or even forgiveness, but we have no other option at second base for now. inexplicably, castillo also threw the ball to second base instead of home, completely unaware of the potential for the error to end the game. that is mental breakdown, and that’s why i look for cora to start when reyes gets healthy. one play can indeed define a player.
