Four million years after crash landing on an unfamiliar planet, sentient robots with the ability to disguise themselves as common vehicles awaken on present day Earth. Engaged in a crucial race to find a new energy source for their home planet of Cybertron, Optimus Prime and the heroic Autobots must defend the innocent people of Earth against their archnemeses, Megatron and the power-hungry Decepticons.

The Good: Transformers Season one 25th anniversary edition was distributed by Shout! Factory. It’s a great release especially with the second movie by director Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on the brink of hitting theaters this summer. From what I gathered regarding this amazing cartoon animation of Transformers, which skyrocketed with the release of its toy line Transformers, is that the series aired on television in the US around 1984. The original series is based on the popular Japanese toys from Takara. But later on, it was developed into a marketable toy line called “Transformers” by Hasbro in the United States.

The storyline is pretty simple and not over the top and kids can follow it. Basically, Megatron is an evil robot and leader of the Decepticons and Optimus Prime i sthe leader of the group Autobots. Anyways, Megatron wants to do away with the autobots and take control of Cybertron but then both groups battle it off on earth. It’s an entertaining cartoon show and it kept me and my two kids interested watching robots transforming and fighting it out.

The Bad: Not much to really say bad about this cartoon series it’s embedded in our minds as kids especially for those who grew up in the 80’s, you guys definitely should pick up a copy, you’ll re-live your childhood.
