The following is a statement by Earvin “Magic” Johnson:

“I will always cherish the friendship with Michael Jackson and the Jackson Family. I remember the first time Michael called me and asked if I would be in his ‘Remember The Time’ video. That was the greatest thrill of my life. The second greatest thrill was going out on tour three times with The Jacksons. I am extremely saddened by Michael’s sudden death. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Jackson family and his children.

“I grew up idolizing him and listening to his music. I was looking forward to seeing Michael back on stage in London this summer. Now, I will hold on to the great memories and the great music he leaves behind. He is by far the greatest entertainer of all time. He will truly be missed.”
