Game Rating: 3.5/5.0
The storyline centers around the Serpent King Orochi, he’s kidnapped history’s greatest warriors in a scheme to test his might. The heroes eventually defeated Orochi and his menacing army. Now the slain Orochi lies in the netherworld, and a mysterious alliance is hatching a plan to resurrect Orochi.
There are 96 playable characters to choose from, including two New playable characters exclusive to the Sony PSP include the graceful San Zang and the warrior-monk Benkei. Truth be told, the Serpent King Orochi is a very enjoyable character to play with, as he hes extreme strength, as he kills anyone who stands in his way.

The action takes place on large battlefields. Surprisingly, you won’t see and slow-down on the PSP system, even with 30 to 50 soldiers on screen at a time. You choose three characters to take into battle, and you can switch among them at any time. All the characters basically fall into three categories: Power- which they’ll possess a ” power attack”, Speed – will possess ” combination maneuvers” and finally Technique – which the warriors has “Enhanced Strike”. All have different types of weapons, style and customs, but all short of fight the same, it’s to your preference on which character you choose.
Each campaign has conditions for victory. Victory comes when you kill a certain enemy captain, while still trying to keep an eye out for your captain on your side, or else the campaign is deemed a defeat. Every so often on the battlefield, you’ll notice that your captain on your side whose in danger or what strategy they’ll want you to try to help on with. Usually means to escort someone to a spot, so they can set off a fire to a rival’s camp.
One aspect that can at least make one replay a mission or two, is that you earn experience during each battle, which makes your characters stronger. You can also use points to fuse your acquired weapons together into more powerful ones, as well as equip your characters with a range of special abilities, such as stronger defense or a gradually refilling life gauge.

Warriors Orochi 2 on the PSP is a far better game then the Console version. I don’t know why, but it seems smoother, and I had no issue with slow-downs.
