NFL: Rush Limbaugh, Giants, Terrell Owens, Stafford

Source: Rush Limbaugh very unhappy being dropped from Rams bid. A league source said Rush Limbaugh was “very unhappy” when informed he was being dropped from the bid. Neither Limbaugh nor Rams owner Chip Rosenbloom could be reached for comment. The prospect of Limbaugh owning a slice of the Rams ignited a debate at St. Louis City Hall, where many of the elected officials hold views opposite to the radio host — but also don’t want to see the team leave. – St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Phil Simms: I’d take Stafford over Ryan, Flacco or Sanchez. Former Super Bowl winning QB Phil Simms appeared on the “Scores Report” last week and talked about a number of NFL-related topics. Most interesting to Lions fans: a few questions about rookie QB Matthew Stafford -Detroit Free Press

Brandon Jacobs is no worry for Giants coach Tom Coughlin. Brandon Jacobs is down on himself, and everyone else seems down on him, too. But not Tom Coughlin. He’s still high on his struggling No. 1 running back. “I don’t know why people keep talking about (Jacobs) turning it around,” Coughlin said Wednesday. “I mean the guy had some outstanding runs the other day. He had the usual number of power runs that he has. I don’t think there’s anything for Brandon to be down on. This keeps coming up. I don’t know what the expectations (are). He’s a power runner. That’s what he does.” – NY Daily News

Bears not interested in Bills’ Terrell Owens?. There isn’t a chance the Bears will engage in trade talks if the Buffalo Bills decide to shop Terrell Owens, the future Hall of Famer receiver, before Tuesday’s trade deadline. The Bears considered Owens in the offseason after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys and decided to take a pass. So far, that strategy has paid off. Devin Hester, Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett have emerged as equal threats, all on pace to have more than 750 receiving yards. That’s something no trio has done in franchise history. Offensive coordinator Ron Turner doesn’t see a need to add the controversial Owens. ”We’re happy with the guys we have,” Turner said. – Chicago Sun-Times
