Overview: John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future that Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

By all means, this Terminator film was entertaining enough than the previous one. It kept me interested cuae for one I wanted to know how it was going to end. Of course, we all know that this was like the prequel before the first Terminator film. The film did tie some loose ends and explained how Skynet was always growing and plotting on pretty much wiping humans off the earth completely. Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), did a great job but and Christian Bale, who is my favorite actor, is completely one-dimensional throughout. He shows more emotion in his off screen rant on the set than he does on the screen. I now understand why he was so tense on the set – he’s a great actor burdened with weak material, trying to give it some life.
The effects are spectacular. In my opinion, Moon Bloodgood was a good character, but she wasn’t really important to the plot. Bryce Dallas Howard looked cute especially her eyes but she was useless, too. Kyle Reese got a lot of screen time, and it was good; he had a lot of key scenes, well done and well acted. The problems in the movie are a few. There was no bad acting, not even in Christian Bale’s dry portrayal of John Connor. The movie called for a more mature Connor, more collected man, troubled-no doubt-by his future role and missions. The action scenes were to die for, really. The Harvester was great, the bike terminators were also a nice add-on, and Arnold’s great cameo was a shock, to me at least.
Overall, Terminator: Salvation turned out to be a good movie, full of what we all go to see films in the first place: entertainment. I’m not giving it a nice review just because I’m a fan, no, I’m giving it a good review because I enjoyed it-and I believe others will too.
