Ubisoft has set-out to up its hugely successful Assassin’s Creed’s game by releasing a sequel with a new character, bold move, but even though it’s a new character, it still dawns the same costume, so many will still recognize him on screen. This time the mission types are more enjoyable and new features range from swimming to able to earn money.
Like in the first game, Assassin’s Creed II occurs in two different timeliness, a modern-day and another featuring one of Desmond’s ancestors. You start off with Desmond, but you’ll quickly be introduced to Ezio Auditore di Firenze, whom you’ll play as the most, throughout the game.

You collect money this time around, as you’ll receive it in payment for completing certain missions, also by locating treasure boxes scattered throughout the game. Money can be used to purchase new Armour and weapons, increasing your health and combat effectiveness. Once the health and Armour upgrades have been fully unlocked, the game becomes extremely fun to play, not to say it wasn’t before, but now the efficiency of the counter attack becomes easier and thus combat becomes faster to down enemies.
The Combat system has added improvements, as you’ll have a wider selection of weapons and additional moves such as stealing an opponent’s weapon and using it against them. The overall combat this time around, seems smoother, as do the animations and climbing and swing around.

One issue, is with the cut-scenes, maybe it’s just me but I felt that the overall quality of the cut-scenes this time around aren’t as nice, its as if it took a back seat when the developers were looking to upgrade every aspect from the first game and didn’t save enough time to work on them.
Overall, Assassin’s Creed II is better and smoother then the first, as its new features and missions are more then enough to recommend to someone who has enjoy the first installment, as well as anyone whom felt the first Assassin’s Creed was a bit boring, as this time around, it’s a more ‘friendly game’.
