Overview: Three-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defeated almost every top fighter of the golden age of boxing and symbolized the sport for generations of fans. Now, ten of his acclaimed rivals pay tribute to perhaps the world’s most beloved and inspiring athlete. From the moment he captured the gold at the 1960 Summer Olympics, the fighter who first came to prominence as Cassius Clay electrified the world and transformed the art of boxing. Articulate, handsome, charismatic and outspoken, he became an icon of the burgeoning civil rights movement and a hero to millions around the globe. A master showman and a brilliant strategist, Ali won as much by getting inside his opponents’ heads as by his astounding physical talents. With exclusive interviews and vintage footage from the champ’s unmatched career, “Facing Ali” recreates his most unforgettable rivalries, and recounts his triumphs, tragedies and unstoppable spirit.

What makes Muhammad Ali the best fighter who ever lived on earth? Well, we get an insight to that question from the those who actually fought the man in the ring. We learn some personal stories from George Chuvalo life and tails of how he fought Ali to the distance of 15 rounds. Joe Frazier talks about how much things he had to endure from Ali before he beat him. What makes this documentary great is the fight footage which we get to see the fighters explain what they were thinking in the ring when they fought Ali. They all had a gameplan before facing Ali.

Ken Norton explained how he gave Ali a beating in his first fight with him. George Foreman seemed very forgiving of Ali as well as giving Ali his props. The way the documentary was shot I must say it was well done. Before every interview of Ali’s rival fighters came up, there was a quote of Ali, which explained of what he was thinking of at that specific time period. It was good to see boxing legends speaking about each other but specifically Ali.

There’s so much history in this documentary DVD when you watch these fighters talk that you feel like a kid among men listening to his warriors express their feelings about facing Ali and what it did to their lives.
