Overview: It remains as true today as it did in the days of the ancient Samurai: the weapons of the Ninja hold legendary powers for both good men and evil. The deadly weapons of the last Koga Ninja have now been entrusted to an American Ninjutsu student studying in Japan. Commanded by his Sensei to return to New York and protect the weapons at all cost, he must defeat the skilled Yakuza assassins hunting him and prevent the power of the weapons from falling into evil hands.

Casey (Scott Adkins) and Masazuka (Tsuyoshi Ihara) grow up in Sensei (Togo Igawa) Dojo school.  But when Masazuka loses his temper over trying to kill Casey cause of his jealously of him, Sensei bans Masazuka from the Dojo school. Sometime later, we see Masazuka as a ninja assassin working with an underground boss. He returns and kills everyone at the Dojo school. Sensei sensed that he was coming, so he sent his daughter Namiko (Mika Hijii) to return to New York to protect the legendary Yoroi Bitsu, an armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Koga Ninja.

Casey (Scott Adkins) and Sensei’s daughter Namiko are then running from the underground boss gang members who are sent by Masazuka to kill them both. Ultimately, Masazuka just cares for the armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Koga Ninja. The fighting scenes were done well. For a film, that was low budget, director Issac Florentine did a wonderful job. His camera angles and lighting were great especially since he wasn’t given a very big budget to work with.

As far as the characters, Masazuka was menacing as the bad guy. He did a fine job. Scott Adkins should’ve done more for his character, I felt he needed to add something to how he looked on screen. Unlike his character Uri Boyka in Undisputed II, he did a better acting job in that role. He just didn’t look tough enough in this one. He did a great job in the action scenes but not enough in his acting role as Casey. You know what,  Scott reminded me of Ben Affleck’s brother Casey.

The locations were shot in New York, but it looked like it was shot in Toronto somewhere. Anyhow, the film overall is entertaining, it’s not a bad film at all. If you like action flicks then you should pick this film up on Blu-Ray. What saved this film was the camera work by Issac Florentine, and putting his characters in great position to succeed in their roles.

The specific aspects of the Blu-ray:
