Aliens vs. Predator has one major thing going for it; it has two of the biggest recognizable franchises in movie history as playable characters . With such a huge fanbase, are the expectations too much for the game to live up too.

You get to play as three different characters, an alien a Predator and a space marine. Each campaign has one fault, it’s very linear, which is not a game changer but it’s a little bummer. The alien campaign brings a fast pace gameplay, the Predator has you stalking you prey in stealth and the final one the space marine brings a standard FPS to the table.

Aliens: A little disappointed in the alien’s aspect of the game, as the controls are a little off here. Crawling/climbing onto walls sometimes don’t work as it should, or just causes too much of a pain to even bother.

Predator: The predator felt a little under power, I understand that having a unlimited amount of ammo would be cheating, but it would have improved the gameplay of the Predator campaign a ton. The campaign is a stealthy one, as you’ll be jumping onto tree limps, on top of building and overall using the cool invisible cloaking feature to evade enemies.

Space Marines: your armed with a pistol, an auto pulse rifle, grenades and the very important ability to detect Aliens. You traverse the many abandoned corridors and jungles, with aliens lurking around every dark corner.

Presentation wise, nothing wrong in my book, as it does a great job of drawing inspiration from all the movies of the aliens and predator. No matter which campaign you choose from you’ll notice the quality is spread among all of the characters, making the game feel as one, but through the different eyes of the aliens, predator and space marine.

The sounds: from great voice acting to the perfect sound effects from each series of movies from aliens and predator is awesome. I enjoyed that everything sounded like you know, it should, it just adds to the gameplay and experience.

Overall, if you a fan of the film franchises, then this is a game for you, but if not, then you may want to at least rent it before you buy it.
