Predators Movie Reviews

The overall Rating of The movie Predators is generally getting a lot of unfavorable reviews, so far as early reviews come in. I’m a fan of Rodriguez so I’ll give it a view when I get the chance in the movies. Plot of the movie: A group of elite warriors realize they’ve been brought together on a distant planet to be systematically hunted by alien Predators. Starring:Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Louiz Ozawa.

Here are some favorable reviews, as the ones you’ll find below:

Amid the macho poses and reloading of his unbelievably enormous weapon, I was distracted by the notion of Brody’s participation as a kind of privately satisfying performance art (a similar impulse found James Franco doing a guest stint on “General Hospital”).-Movieline

It’s solidly entertaining for what it is and, while it does little to truly rejuvenate the franchise, at least it lessens the pain caused by two gimmicky cross-over pictures that sucked too much juice out of what was one of the 1980s’ most surprisingly tense sci-fi action pictures.-ReelViews

The Mixed but favorable reviews in the media.

The movie is mostly about our nasty heroes being attacked by terrifying antagonists in incomprehensible muddles of lightning-fast special effects. It lacks the quiet suspense of the first “Predator,” and please don’t even mention the “Alien vs. Predator” pictures, which lacked the subtlety of “Mothra vs. Godzilla.” -Roger Ebert

Very much bearing the creative imprint of Robert Rodriguez, but directed by Nimrod Antal, the new edition, in its best moments, is an unabashed B-movie that plays like a jacked-up “Twilight Zone” with award-winning actors delivering the pulp-infused dialogue. “-The Hollywood Reporter

First remarks from “Brody,” I’d like to say great job on the commentary, bro. Also props to Mr Weyland )a true Pred fan). However, I see so many negative remarks from “so-called” Predator fans but somehow most reviews from fans and expert critics alike, miss some very important cues given in this latest film in the Predator saga. How could we miss the hints of a future Predator – Human alliance? I mean, we saw the video game and we saw from P2 and AVP that they do respect our resillience and will to survive against incredible odds – and show their respect (although reluctantly) when we win in a battle against them. So, the latest hint comes from Royce as he cuts the the captive “weaker of the two Pred races” down as they both battle a SUPER Predator. An alliance is coming folks so, get ready. Antal gave us more hints to this… how many of us have Google image searched “Predators” and saw the sexy “female Predator?” Got news for ya… she was on the actual set of predators but mysteriously didn’t make it to the final cut. So, where’d she go? We’ll be seeing her for sure in a future flick and another thing, she aint no alien, she’s human strapped well with Predator firepower and we all seemed to have missed this?? Looks like Rodriguez and Antal are better at what they do than we even realize. ^_-

What this movie does is erase ever Predator movie since the first (thank God.) It plays directly off the storyline of Arnold surviving the first and telling the government in details about it. This of course aids the group with survival later in the picture.

Basically you have a massive world used as a hunting ground by a race of bigger and badder predators who not only hunt humans, but other alien races, and even a separate tribe of predators (the ones we’ve come to love). Predators waste no time with BS fluff in the beginning but opens with Adrien Brody snapping awake in mid fall to the planet. Soon things begin to become clear as the group begins to form up and their stories sharing similarities. They are all killers (Mercenaries, Drug Cartel hit men, Yakuza, Israeli Black Ops, Spetsnaz, African warlords, Death Row killers, and one unlucky doctor.) The plot is suspenseful, eerie, and very close to the attitude of the original. The CGI is limited, which in this day and age is a good thing, there are a few moments where your stomach tightens from the brutal thing you just saw, but nothing like AVP:R. Soon figuring out that running is what the Predators want them to do, the team chooses to actually bring the fight to the predators. Most importantly, to silence everyone’s fears that the casting of Adrien Brody was a colossal mistake, let me say he pulls it off and pulls it off well. He is not trying to be Arnold, or replace Arnold as Arnold actually exists in the world of the script. Brody plays his mercenary role well, although I kind of giggled at his almost Batman like gruff voice. There are a few hints to the original Predator, and don’t even believe the rumors of cameos, there are none.

All in all what you get is a new story that locks into the original Predator and skips Predator 2, AVP, and AVP:R (Which made me love it even more). It’s a great summer action flick that we will surely see a sequel to.)

    4 Outta 5.

Several scenes were disjointed. Why was Lawrence Fisbourne made-out to be a crazy person instead of a person who had some help to really put the hurt on the Predators? Why did they not allow him to shoot the futuristic weapon? Why did they come-up with two types of Predators who are killing each other? With all the other stuff that didn’t make sense, they should have stuck an Alien in there somewhere. I anticipated a 2 hour Predator gets butt kicked good movie. If you can, wait until it comes to $1.50 movie theater. . .

PREDATORS man what can I say. As a regular person just like most of you that dont hide any secrets like (topher grace) i have to say this movie was excellent. First of all nobody really cares what any critique has to say so if you like the movie go watch it. It was really good action and the tension and suspense was incredible. If i were a critique id give it a 9 out of 10.
