HBO Documentary: A Conversation w/ Spike Lee

On Monday August 23rd and Tuesday August 24th, HBO Documentary Films will present IF GOD IS WILLING AND DA CREEK DON’T RISE; the highly anticipated follow up to Spike Lee’s documentary, “When the Levees Broke”.

IF GOD IS WILLING AND DA CREEK DON’T RISE continues the story of the rebirth of the Big Easy, begun in Lee’s epic, Emmy and Peabody-winning 2006 documentary “When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts.”

Alongside the city’s storied ability to celebrate life with unmatchable ebullience, Lee documents the successes and failures in the ongoing efforts to restore housing, health care, education, economic growth and law and order to a battered but unbowed community. More than 300 people share their stories.

Spike Lee discusses the lingering effects of Katrina in New Orleans, and the impact of recent events like the Superbowl and BP oil spill.

And don’t forget – The film debuts in two parts on MONDAY, AUG. 23 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) and TUESDAY, AUG. 24 (9:00-11:00 p.m.), exclusively on HBO.
