Features: 8/10
Performance: 9/10
Price Value: 8/10
Packaging: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10

Features: The music instrumentals on the Beat Thang Virtual software are the best out right now. The Drums and Bass kits are my favorites. There’s 16 tracks, so you can create patterns that can be performed and remixed on the fly.

Performance: It performed really well. But some of the stuff that I disliked about the software is, you definitely need memory for your Laptop/PC if not it can crash, as well as have great earphones, and some great studio speakers. If you’re not very savvy understanding how to make music or using this software, you’ll get confused. There’s a tutorial guide on the Beat Thang website, for beginners to understand the process of how to start using the Beat Thang virtual.

Price Value: Priced at $149 dollars, is it worth buying, especially in these troubled times? Well, money is tight nowadays, I’ll suggest you pass for now, but that’s unless you’re thinking of making beats just to kill time or you’re bore, I suggest you wait till you can afford it. But don’t get me wrong, it’s a great software to make beats that’s if you have the money then you should buy it. If you have inspirations to be the next Dr. Dre, then by all means get the Beat Thang Virtual software, cause in the long run you won’t be disappointed.

Packaging: It comes it a nice box with a one page instruction manual on how to fully activate your software.

Overall Rating: It’s a great music software for producing beats. Unlike the Fruit Loops software, the Drum & Bass Kits are strictly dope! They BANG!

Pros: Great instrumentals.

Cons: Complex to use for beginners.

So I just hear from the Mets on SNY Pre-game, that Jose Reyes is out for 8 weeks. Mets shortstop Jose Reyes will rest, refrain from athletic activity and make changes in his diet, according to the treatment prescribed by doctors and specialists, the Mets announced on Thursday.

The shortstop will be sidelined for an unknown period of time. Reyes’ thyroid levels will be monitored through regular blood tests, and he will be cleared to resume baseball activities once his thyroid levels return to normal.

The Mets said that additional blood tests confirmed that Reyes’ thyroid hormone blood levels are elevated.

Reyes’ only game activity thus far has been participating in the Mets’ one intrasquad game on March 1. He initially had blood tests done as a follow-up to those done as part of his preseason physical. He later returned to New York for further tests.

TuneBug, an innovative leader in SurfaceSound technology for portable speaker solutions, unveils a line of new products that will transform the current landscape for mobile speaker products. Using NXT’s patented technology, Tunebug’s line of products generates sound waves that pass through the surfaces it rests on, turning those surfaces into speakers. One of the first sound generators from their line to be showcased includes the Shake, a small attachable device for bike, ski and skateboard helmets which create surround sound inside of the helmet by “exciting” the entire helmet surface which then becomes a speaker. Tunebug is also releasing the Vibe, an ultra portable SurfaceSound speaker for your desktop, tabletop, and other available surfaces.

“We are very excited to unveil our Tunebug products using the NXT patented SurfaceSound Technology at CES 2010,” says Dick Brown, CEO of TuneBug. “We hope to add an entirely new solution to listening to music while on the go, anytime, anywhere especially for bikers, skateboarders, skiers, and others who until now have not been able to listen to music safely while wearing a helmet.”

Q3: HD Audio recorder with video. Records clearest and crisp audio while also shooting video.

Zoom, makers of award-winning professional audio recording devices, are excited to announce the much anticipated availability of the Q3 Handy Video Recorder. Unlike other handheld video camcorders, the Q3 records stereo sound with two condenser microphones, which allow users to capture crystal clear HD audio with their movies. The ability to capture audio at 24-bit/48 kHz is especially important for users planning to upload their footage to video share sites like YouTube, which compress video but now allow files with stereo audio at 44.1 kHz, which is CD quality.

“While it can be difficult to discern the difference between High Quality and High Definition videos on sites like YouTube, High Definition audio makes a big difference in the viewing experience,” says Mark Wilder, Samson Director of Marketing. The Q3 Handy Video Recorder allows you to capture audio that your audience can easily identify as superior quality and is unmatched by audio captured on any other handheld camcorder.”

Powered by 2 AA batteries, the Q3 will record for up to two hours in true stereo and clear 640 x 480 resolution refreshed at 30 frames per second.
I’ve happen to get an opportunity to get a sneak peek for SouthLAnd’s Season 2 Premiere Episode. We start off by seeing that Regina King’s character Detective Lydia Adams has a new partner named Ray Suarez played by Amaury Nolasco. Detective Lydia Adams dislikes Ray Suarez from the very start. I don’t know but Nolasco only filmed three episodes, so he won’t be around Adams very long. Actor Clifton Collins will fill that void. The show is really engaging and raw, especially when the camera angles are shot up close on the character’s faces.

Anyhow, without really giving much away, it’s good start for SouthLand Season 2 which Premieres March 2 @ pm on TNT. -Written by Rory Marshall, SoHood.com, So Hood Magazine

Marlon Wayans has been coming along slowly after having several film bombs but with the recent landing of a big role in the blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. There’s word that a sequel is in the works but no word if Marlon Wayans will be back for his reprise role as Ripcord.

But there’s no stopping Marlon at this point, he’s keeping it moving with several film projects in the works. With tentative film titles The Year of Living Biblically, another sequel to White Chicks, Scary Movie Part 5, and Super Bad James Dynomite. But his most important role will come when he plays Richard Pryor in the Biopic of Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? The biopic will be written and directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls).

Marlon Wayans, along with his brother Shawn, will both host the 2010 BET Awards in June 2010. -Written by Edwin Diaz, SoHood.com, So Hood Magazine
