Dead Cells Review: Surprise Hit Of The Year

The sleeper hit of the year. Many will call it a Metroidvania game, basically means it has elements from both Metroid and Castlevania. The game is not easy, it’s a grind, but I promise you it’s well worth it.

The more you play, the more control you have on the starting weapons and abilities. But, for the most part the random pickups make the game challenging. There are bombs, shields, swords, whips and ranged weapons.

I grow up playing 2d sidescrollers, so I know a good game when I play it, this game is good, very good. The combat is fast and fluid. I like the vast amount of different weapons that force you to change your playstyle. There is a sense of progression and goals to work towards, that add value with each playthrough.

I had a blast with Dead Cells, it’s a game I recommend to my friends and gamers who fans of Metroidvania games.

Game Overview: Dead Cells puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to figure out what’s happening on a sprawling, ever-changing and seemingly cursed Island.
