Around 11:40 PM eastern Time, the first Guns N’ Roses “Chinese Democracy” TV Ad debuts, Now I don’t know if the ads were running thoughout the week, but it’s the first that I’ve come across it. Seems like a strange time to run it on Saturday Night Live, because lately I’ve read that SNL hasn’t had this much ratings in years. So it makes sense, what else was on this week, well nothing, the Baseball World Series is finished and the ratings were low.
The ad itself is the same one that hit the internet last week or so, but it felt a little longer, and it just played a snippet of the single “Chinese Democracy”, with the album cover and the information like the released date.
Hopefully, this is not the only ad that Best Buy plans to run, as it doesn’t show any pictures of the band, video, its just odd, I myself only knew that it was GNR when the opening to Chinese Democracy started.

Right on !! Damn I’m getting addicted to your blog :)
Very informative article. Thank you very much.
It’s a teaser, of course it’s not going to show anything specific. Plus SNL has had great ratings lately because of their election coverage, not to mention that was the show McCain was on, and everyone tuned in to see McCain (I think he was hilarious, if he had gone on SNL 6 months ago, he might have won)
Teasers never show any details, its a teaser, this one based on a tie-in to the election. Now that we’re post election, they should have a different commercial.
